Naskar's Deer Sitar Full Front View.
Nothing but classic design elements throughout.
Naskar's Deer Sitar Head Stock.
This view shows the nice thick nut deerhorn nut strips, classic red / black etched trim on a 3 1/2" wide neck, new bone beads and the new rose pegs matched and fitted.

Beautiful work here. Even the carved leaves on the real gourd upper tumba have carved bone tips fitted.
Naskar's Deer Sitar Nut Profile.
Not seen very often these days is this kind of detail - a wolf's head carved into the side tab of the nut and a chasing creature on the other end. Lovely!
Naskar's Deer Sitar Badge
This badge was in use up to the late 1970's, I think. From then on the badge would read "Naskar and Co." This being an earlier badge indicates the level of quality found on many sitars from this period. This sitar was played quite a bit as determined by the necessary refit of a bone block to support the main center playing string.
Naskar's Deer Sitar Pick Guard.
You have to love this ! Two deer grazing in a meadow. The area here could have been left blank or filled in with a few more flowers. This is something special and shows the maker clearly cares about his work and the instrument itself. Beautiful !
Naskar
Classic carving design with the depth and clarity typical of Naskar's work from this earlier period. Nice slab of wood too. Trim is tight fitting and cleanly etched.
Naskar's Deer Sitar Tumba carving.
Here is more vintage quality carving from Naskar's shop. Very clean work and the design reads even at a distance rather than becoming a blur at a distance.
Naskar's Deer Sitar Money Shot.
What a gem ! ! Deep deep carving. I'm very happy the new pegs I fitted are so good a color match. I also replaced the main bridge with a white delrin type I make here. The bridge legs are made from one block of kingwood.
